Niamh Bennett, age 8:

I liked the Peter Pan show because it was my first ever time seeing an opera show. My favourite part was when Peter Pan’s shadow fell off and Wendy sewed it back on. I also liked Tinkerbell and when we woke her up by making lots of loud noises.

I liked how the characters sang and my favourite character was the dog called Nana. I liked how loud it was and how sometimes it was fast and sometimes it was slow. I couldn’t understand what they were singing some of the times but I knew what was happening by reading the words.

I liked the costumes and how they used the big nursery blocks. We laughed when they spelt out ‘FARTS’. I also liked it when the man came on the train and they stamped the baby.

I didn’t know the Peter Pan story but I understood what was happening.

I was excited and interested when the orchestra was warming up. I play the recorder and ukulele and would like to try being in an orchestra when I am older.

It was amazing when they flew. The whole show was fantastic. I did get tired at the end but because it was late and I had played rugby in the morning not because of the show. I would like to go to more operas.

Rowan Merrett, age 6:

I liked it because the music was so loud and everyone cheered and clapped. Second, I liked it when Peter Pan’s shadow was off and Tinkerbell went everywhere. It made me feel excited and happy but mostly it made me laugh.

It was my first time ever being to the opera. I liked seeing all of the instruments from nearly at the very top. There were lots of people watching and a lot of clapping.

My favourite costume that I liked was the blue and black stripy t-shirts on the twins. And it was funny when the crocodile pooed out the watch and I liked it when the clock turned into a crocodile. It was clever. There was some magic and Peter Pan flew into the air.

It was funny when the people dressed as pirates who were showing us to our seats.

It was just right at that time, I didn’t feel tired. I knew the story because I’ve seen the cartoon of it and I’m glad I saw it on stage.
