Award-nominated comedian, writer and composer Leila Navabi arrives at The Riverfront on Thursday 26 February with her bold, joyful one-person show Relay – a genre-blending hour of stand-up, electro-pop musical numbers and hand-drawn animation about building a queer family on your own terms.

Fresh from its critically acclaimed debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, Relay is a heartfelt and hilarious exploration of what it takes to start a family when the odds – and the system – are stacked against you. With warmth, wit and whip-smart songwriting, Navabi charts the wild ride of making a baby at home with her partner, a best friend as sperm donor, and his boyfriend cheering from the sidelines.
Equal parts absurd and profound, Relay is a punk-musical meditation on love, ambition and chosen family — proof that family is not just what you make it, but how.
