On Sunday evening we walked into Cardiff Castle to see the performance of Santa’s Wish – the festive grounds really set the tone for this magical show. Neither we nor our two young children knew what to expect, but the circus-like Spiegeltent, with seats packed tightly around the stage, created an instant sense of excitement for the performance ahead.
It didn’t take long for the children to become enthralled (so much so that our 3-year-old left his seat and moved into the aisle so he could dance along!). The storyline, focused on kindness and caring, was expressed through acrobatics, engaging choreography, and outstandingly catchy songs which kept the children (and adults) thoroughly entertained throughout the performance.

Millie Davies
Naomi Katiyo
Our daughter was mesmerised by the vocals of Millie Davies, who plays the role of Snowflake, and both children were clapping, dancing, and singing as Naomi Katiyo, who plays the roles of Tinsel the Elf and Lily, led some of the musical numbers. By the end of the show the entire audience were up on their feet dancing and singing, echoing the enthusiasm of the performers.
This show is definitely worth seeing this Christmas – our 6-year-old gave the performance 100 out of 10, which I think that says it all!
The Spiegeltent is also the venue for the grown-ups show Catellana. Castellana at the Spiegeltent in Cardiff Castle
Live Under the Stars and Jamboree Entertainment have brought some splendid festive fun and frollicks to Cardiff this festive season. Don’t miss the shows.
