Community performers reach fundraising milestone for The Memo!
Local amateur dramatic group, Break A Leg productions are celebrating having raised over £20,000 for Newbridge Memo since they formed in 2009.
The group, which was set up by June Watkins and friends, have put on a variety of plays, performances and concerts over the last 7 years – raising much-needed funds for the restoration and maintenance of Newbridge Memo.
June Watkins, Director of Break a Leg productions said “We are thrilled to raise money for a building that plays such a pivotal role in our community.”
June continued, “In today’s climate, laughter is more important than ever and so is the community getting together, which is the whole reason we put on these shows”.
Not content with their fundraising success, the group are gearing up for their next show at The Memo with their latest comedy/drama, The Wings of Time. The show will do a two-night stint in the Auditorium on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd September. Tickets are on sale now from the Box Office and online at www.newbridgememo.co.uk and cost £7 standard | £6 concessions.
